    Celebrating the land for the new church... and GreekFest to help build it!


    9/5/10 On Sunday, August 28 St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church celebrated its first Divine Liturgy on its recently purchased land on Ebenezer Road immediately outside the Peachtree City limits.  Under the leadership of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta and the Very Rev. Fr. George Tsahakis, the parish has grown to approximately 50 families from the Fayette, Coweta, Spalding, S. Fulton county areas. Plans for building are under way and the 6th Annual GreekFest fundraiser will take place on Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Seymour Hangar at Falcon Field.     Annual Chicken-Q Sept. 19

    8/30/09 The 6th Annual Chicken-Q, co-sponsored by the Methodist Men of the Peachtree City United Methodist Church and the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City, will feature one-half chicken, baked beans and coleslaw for $7.75. The take-out only meal can be picked up (drive-in, drive out) between 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM at the church campus on the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Windgate Road. The primary beneficiary of the proceeds is the area Scouting Program. Tickets are available from Kiwanis members, Methodist Men or during the event.

    Bethlehem Baptist Church Revival

    8/12/09 Bethlehem Baptist Church’s Revival will begin with a Homecoming Service on Sunday, August 16th during the regular morning worship service at 11:00 AM.     Worship Schedule Change at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church

    8/4/09 The worship schedule at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will change during August. On August 16 Sunday evening worship returns at 6:00 p.m., but now it will take place in Fellowship Hall. This is a relaxed, come-as-you-are service. Also on August 16, GraceFlock contemporary worship at 11:00 returns to Fellowship Hall after moving for several weeks to allow repairs and repainting. The exterior of the church has also received new paint and needed repairs.

    On August 23 worship will return to its pre-construction schedule to read: Saturday at 7:00 p.m.; Sunday at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary; Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Two services in different styles take place at 11:00.

    Community Thanksgiving Service

    11/11/09 The Lighthouse and Hopewell UMC will join together to provide a community Thanksgiving service. Rev. Scott Pickering and Rev. Mark Jordan will be speaking and musicians from both churches will lead music. This will also be a service of Holy Communion with collections being taken to help the needy in our community this holiday season. The service will be at the Hopewell UMC in Tyrone on Sunday November 22 at 6pm with refreshment and fellowship time following. All are welcome!     Harvest Festival at All Saints

    Strolling “medieval troubadour” Phil Kelley paused to speak with parishioner Betsy Strickland last Saturday at the Harvest Festival put on by All Saints Anglican Church in Peachtree City. Kelley and other musicians entertained while shoppers checked out the jewelry, fine art, pies, cakes and handicrafts. Doug and Kelly Abrams played the piano and Kent McVay played the bagpipes.     All Saints Anglican Continues Beth Moore Series

    9/12/09 All Saints Anglican Church in Peachtree City will offer another Beth Moore Bible Study course for women beginning September 15th. The program is open to the public.     7/10/09 Thirty-one children in Kindergarten through 5th grade enjoyed a week of fun and faith formation at Lutheroad Day Camp at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City last month. Counselors from Lutheridge Camp in North Carolina came to lead the camp which featured music, games, crafts, field trips, and interactive Bible stories.
