4/3/08 (8:10 a.m.) Paulette Bass gave her tenth speech at the
High Noon Toastmaster meeting late March, reaching a club milestone worthy of
recognition. However, the day was not done! In addition to Toastmaster
recognition, she was honored by the Fayette County Commission and the City of
Peachtree City. March 25th was declared Paulette Bass Day. Paulette Bass is a
resident of the Developmental Disabilities Ministries of Georgia Hi-Hope Group
Home in Fayetteville.

1/23/08 (9:12 a.m.) Peachtree City’s Outdoor Burning Ban has been lifted due to
recent precipitation a decreased Fire Danger Rating from Georgia Forestry
Commission. Peachtree City residents must continue to obtain a Burning
Permit from the Fire Department, which will issue burning permits on a
day-to-day basis based on the Fire Danger Rating and current weather

Census Bureau: Among counties with populations of
65,000 or more (the threshold for 2005 American Community Survey data), Davis
County, Utah (49.4 percent); Fayette County, Ga. (45.5);
Forsyth County, Ga. (48.5); Loudon County, Va. (44.6); Stafford County, Va.
(43.8); and Utah County, Utah (45.7) had the highest percentage of homes with
four or more bedrooms.
4/26/08 Peachtree City, Georgia, is compiling a
book to commemorate the upcoming 50th anniversary. The Fayette
County Historical Society, Rebecca Waits with the Peachtree City
Library, Carolyn Cary, Sallie Satterthwaite and others are helping
to compile the history. Over 1500 photos have already been
gathered. However, photos from the 1960s are still needed, plus
help is being requested in identifying individuals in the photos

4/4/08 (10:22 p.m.) Keep PTC Beautiful, an organization dedicated to controlling litter and
promoting beautification efforts, has launched their website! The
effort is currently being supported by the Public Works department. As the
group grows and works to gain status as an affiliate of Keep America
Beautiful, this website will provide links to other efforts in the City to
help with litter prevention efforts. Volunteer are welcome!

Level Four Drought Conditions
Due to worsening drought conditions in Georgia, the Director of the
Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has declared a
level four drought response for the northern third of the state. A
level four drought response prohibits most types of residential outdoor
water use. The level four drought response was declared for all counties in
north Georgia from Muscogee County on the Alabama line northeastward to
Spalding County, and eastward to Lincoln County on the South Carolina line. Click
