May 3 & 4 - It’s SCOTS AND KILTS Weekend!
4/29/08 (4:48 p.m.) Come celebrate all things Scottish
featuring performances by the world renowned Atholl Highlander Pipe and Drum
Band, Sheep dog demonstrations and more!
Since 1981, the Atholl Highlanders have entertained thousands, from Peachtree Street to Gatlinburg, and from Edinburgh to Killiecrankie, Scotland. They were the first Pipe Band to ever appear at the Super Bowl! It’s a dog’s world! Come and see how amazing sheep dogs do their work around the farm. Our sheep herding demonstration is designed to provide an overview of how sheep are moved from field to field! It’s both entertaining and amusing! Crazy themed contests are back by popular demand! Warm up your throwing arm because the traditional Scottish sport of Hurling the Haggis will be held in the Joust Arena at 1:30 pm on Saturday. There will be prizes for the longest throw in both the women and men’s categories, with the fun hosted by Morning Drive personality Phat Mikey from Star 94FM. Sunday – Men, it’s time to show off your legs! Guys, grab your kilts or roll up your pants leg and pose for the Best Calve Contest with prizes from Q100’s Brittany. Come to the Brewers Pub at 1:30 pm to ogle and cheer on your man! Don’t miss all the Scottish fun this weekend!
