Girl Scout Day Offered at Fernbank Museum This Saturday

like never before with a day full of fun and education, specially designed for
Girl Scouts at Fernbank Museum of Natural History’s Girl Scout Day.
On Saturday, April 12, you’ll enjoy programs that include various hands-on activities, live animal encounters, career chats and badge activities. Discover the workings of weather and take home a craft at Weekend Wonders from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Earn a Fernbank badge ($1 in the Museum Store) with downloadable activities about Earth Connections, Plants and Animals, Wildlife, and Jewelry on Girl Scout Day. Chat with Fernbank educators and community volunteers to learn about careers in science from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Scientists taking part in Girl Scout Day include:
Girls Scouts will also be able to investigate the Museum’s permanent and special exhibitions with self-guided tours. Learn about the world’s largest dinosaurs in Giants of the Mesozoic, see how people around the world adorn themselves with expressive objects in Reflections of Culture, journey through Georgia’s regions and natural history in A Walk Through Time in Georgia, investigate science in Sensing Nature, and encounter the mysteries of darkness in environments under the sea, inside caves, under the ground and at night in Fernbank’s current special exhibition, In the Dark. Girl Scout Day is at Fernbank Museum of Natural History on Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Girl Scout Day is included with museum admission and free for members. Tickets are $15 for adults, $14 for students and seniors, and $13 for children ages 3 to 12, and free for children 2 and under. Scouts in uniform will receive $6 off museum admission!
