We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand
fibers connect us with our fellow-men; and along those fibers, as
sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as
effects.

Register Now for Fayette County Parks & Rec
Summer Day Camps
5/16/08 (7:44 a.m.) The Fayette County Parks & Recreation
Department is currently accepting registrations for Summer Day Camps for ages
6-11, but slots are filling up. Summer Day Camp will start on June 2nd and
will end on August 8th, 2008. A variety of different camps will be offered
each of the ten weeks for fees of $70-$75 per week. Each camp is held Monday –
Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The first camp,
“From Sea to Shining Sea,” will take campers on a virtual road trip across
America. Each day will feature a different state or region of the United
States as campers make crafts, do simple cooking projects, and play games
related to each state. Additional camps include several Multi-Sport camps
with field trips to the pool or bowling alley, Eco-Art with nature-friendly
art projects, Wild & Wacky Week, Let Your Talent Show, Under the Big Top and
finally a Sabre Fencing camp. Advance registration is required, and spaces
are limited.
Early registration is recommended, and each camper will
receive a FREE drawstring backpack (while supplies last). Flexible payment
options include the choice of paying a 50% non-refundable deposit with the
balance due at least two weeks prior to each camp. This allows parents the
opportunity to reserve a spot for multiple camps and/or multiple children
while reducing the initial expense. Additional details will be available at
registration. The Day Camp program is only part of the “Summer Days of Fun”
for participants of all ages offered by the Fayette County Parks & Recreation
Department. For more information, please call (770) 716-4320 or download the
2008 Summer Brochure and Day Camp Registration Form from
