We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand
fibers connect us with our fellow-men; and along those fibers, as
sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as
effects.

Mountain Park Cancels Coca-Cola Snow Mountain,
Stone Mountain Christmas will Open as Planned November 10
10/12/07 Stone Mountain Park (SMP) announced Thursday it will move forward
with its popular holiday attraction, Stone Mountain Christmas, but has
cancelled Coca-Cola Snow Mountain this year due to the historic drought in
northern Georgia. SMP confirmed guests who already bought tickets through
advance ticket offers will receive automatic full refunds. This year’s Stone
Mountain Christmas event will feature the Atlanta debut of THE POLAR EXPRESS™
4D attraction. In addition, SMP has doubled the number of lights to two
million and added two new, live holiday shows. The announcement was made by
Gerald Rakestraw, vice president and general manager of Stone Mountain Park.
“Stone Mountain Park regrets having to disappoint all the
Atlanta families who were looking forward to experiencing snow in their
hometown. We believe this is the right thing to do as a good corporate
citizen due to the Level 4 Drought restrictions. We will look into options to
bring Coca-Cola Snow Mountain to guests in the future,” said Rakestraw.
“Stone Mountain Christmas will continue its tradition of bringing families
together for the holidays with perennial favorites like the sing-along
Christmas train, the Snow Angel and the nightly fireworks show. Plus,
families can catch the Atlanta debut of THE POLAR EXPRESS™ 4D attraction.”
Stone Mountain Christmas guests are invited on an extraordinary
4-D adventure this holiday season on THE POLAR EXPRESS™. When a doubting
young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a
journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades
for those who believe. THE POLAR EXPRESS™ is based on the inspiring and
beloved Caldecott Medal children's book by Chris Van Allsburg.
SMP will also illuminate its Crossroads area, with two million
lights, creating a magical, twinkling experience at the base of Stone
Mountain. In addition, guests can enjoy two new live shows this season, A
Hometown Holiday and Kickin’ Up Christmas. The musical revues include
favorite carols like I’ll Be Home for Christmas, Silver Bells, Winter
Wonderland, Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree and Here Comes Santa Claus.
