Huie Bray to Speak to Fayette County Historical Society
Mr. Bray served in the Navy during World War II and was stationed in the Pacific. After his time in service he came back to Fayette County and started as a brick mason, then a subcontractor and finally a builder of homes. Among his contributions to Fayette County, Mr. Bray served as a volunteer in the county’s emergency services and later became the volunteer fire chief. He held that position until the fire and emergency services became a paid department of the county. Mr. Bray served as a Scout Master and was awarded the Silver Beaver, Scouting’s highest volunteer award. He has been awarded a 50 year pin for his service in the Kiwanis Club and the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce recognized him with the Dreambuilders Award. Please take this unique opportunity to relive Fayette County history through the eyes of one of its favorite sons.
