We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand
fibers connect us with our fellow-men; and along those fibers, as
sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as
effects.

Another Night of Elementary School
Redistricting Public invited to give their input on Monday, Dec. 3rd at McIntosh High
School; 7 p.m.
Around 80 - 85 attended the information gathering meeting held by the Board of
Education (BOE) Monday night. Over 40 of that number included the volunteer
parent redistricting committee, press and BOE staff. The primary purpose of the
meeting was to allow the Board to ask questions and learn more regarding the two
maps submitted to them by the committee. In one, East Fayette Elementary School
is to be closed. Both maps are drawing criticism and praise from parents across
the county.
Redistricting: It's a Wrap... sort of.. E. Fayette to Close... maybe
12/17/07 (9:29 p.m.) Tonight the school board voted on a new map that
incorporated the suggestions and desires of many parents. They also made some
minor adjustments based on input from parents in the Stephen's Entry
neighborhood.
East Fayette will stay open for at least one more year.
During the next few months staff will look into whether it is feasible to
close E. Fayette. The tentative plan is for E. Fayette to close at the same
time that Tillman opens.
