We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand
fibers connect us with our fellow-men; and along those fibers, as
sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as
effects.

GA State Rep. John Lunsford:
A GREAT Plan for Georgia: The
Elimination of All Property Taxes
8/27/07
The time has come to eliminate all
property taxes in Georgia, and I firmly believe the people of the state of
Georgia should be given an opportunity to vote on a constitutional
amendment to repeal all property taxes. That opportunity could come in
November of 2008 if the General Assembly will agree that Georgia’s economy
should be based on the exchange and receipt of money and not taxing

7/19/08 (9:24 a.m.) All FairTax supporters are invited to attend an
organizational meeting August 7 at 7:00 p.m. to meet new community
coordinator, Greg Price of Peachtree City. Greg has accepted a leadership
role to help boost our support and membership for the FairTax in Fayette
County. As the elections near, the need to be out in the public eye to
educate the voters about the advantages and the need for a FairTax in our
country becomes more important. We need volunteer support to help us plan
community events where we can hand out information, answer questions and
sign up new memberships. We will discuss the possibility of working the
Kiwanis Fair in Fayetteville. This week long fair needs about 25
volunteers so that we can assign two hour shifts. Before we commit to the
booth fee we need to know we would have volunteers to cover it. There will
be many other fall festivals and community events that would allow us to
participate so we will discuss which events are appropriate. Please join
us for this very important meeting at:

The taxing subject of
millage rates…
Try to explain how millage rates work, and taxes in general, and eyes
start to glaze over. Sure, there are some financial and analytical types
who understand how we in Fayette County are taxed and how the millage
rate affects taxes, but for the vast majority of us, it’s a difficult
subject....
Tax reform is taking the taxes off things that have
been taxed in the past and putting taxes on things that haven't been taxed
before. -
