Hood Avenue Recognizes School-Wide Recitation Contest Winners
Coriana Raynor of Ms. Jones’ Kindergarten class won 1st place by reading “No More Water” by Kenn Nesbitt. Logan Williams of Ms. Hall’s class placed 2nd in the kindergarten competition. In 1st grade, Paige Carter won 1st place for her rendition of “Learning Together in First Grade” by Barbara Gruber & Sue Gruber, and Briana Coreus came in 2nd. Both students are members of Ms. McClanahan’s class. In 2nd Grade, Bailey Towle of Ms. Yeargin’s class won 1st place by reading “My Brother Built a Robot” by Jack Prelutsky. My’Kala Raymond also of Ms. Yeargin’s class won 2nd place. All of the first place winners will represent Hood Avenue Primary School in the county wide recitation January 15-16th at 3:30pm. “We want to thank all
of the students who participated, and congratulate the winners of the
competition. We would also like to extend well wishes to them in the county wide
competition,” says Kiawana Kennedy, principal.
