Hands For Hire Celebrates its First Anniversary of Serving Fayette County’s Citizens with Developmental Disabilities
11/5/07 (12:30 a.m.) Hands For Hire, Inc., Fayetteville’s own independent Medicaid provider for Day Support, Day Habilitation and Supported Employment services for adults with developmental disabilities, announces its 1 year anniversary of doing business in Fayette County! Based in DeKalb County with 20 employees and almost 100 clients in a variety of curriculum tracks, President Karen Lynn had no plans to expand until she met Janet Smola, Executive Director of Exceptional OPS, formerly known as Special People of Fayette County. "Over a period of six months, I visited 30 different service providers," said Smola. "I saw a lot of dead-end streets and warehouse facilities, but then I visited Hands For Hire and I knew if I had a child with a developmental disability, that's where I would want him to be." On October 30, 2006 HFH opened its doors in Fayette County starting with a class of 9. Today, the class has doubled in size and continues to grow with the help of our community and support from devoted partners such as TDK, Fayette Senior Services, Wellspring and Southwest Christian Care, to name a few. At HFH, we train the basics for success and help our people reach beyond their own expectations. We are also committed to help them achieve their highest level of independence. The resources we have developed internally, as well as the partnerships we have forged in the business community and with other specialized providers, assure there is an open, unrestricted route to success for any one with the desire to achieve. About Hands For Hire, Inc. Hands For Hire is an independent Medicaid provider for Day Support, Day Habilitation and Supported Employment services for adults with developmental disabilities.
