11/3/07 (12:01 a.m.) The Executive Board of Fayette
Senior Services has announced that Debbie Britt has been named the agency’s
new executive director. Ms. Britt assumes the position held by Andy Carden,
who is retiring after nearly 13 years of service with the organization.
A former corporate executive and marketing consultant who specialized in strategic planning and business development, Ms. Britt brings more than 25 years of professional experience in business management to the agency. Her professional background also includes executive management and human resource administration. Board of Directors President, Vicki Turner stated “Debbie’s unique and diverse background will complement the skills and vast experience of the agency’s staff. She is also passionate about developing innovative approaches to promote wellness and improve the quality of life for older adults, empowering families and caregivers, and developing a community of positive aging.” Ms. Britt has been a resident of Fayette County for 13 years and served on the Board of Directors for Fayette Senior Services for nearly four years. Ms. Britt will oversee the day-to-day operations of the agency, which is the only non-profit, county-based aging agency in the state. Board Vice President, Jack Bowdoin states “As Fayette Senior Services approaches its imminent building and program expansion; we believe that Debbie’s prior professional contributions to the growth and success of a wide variety of businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations will be of great value to our organization during this critical time of transition.
