AARP Driver Safety Program
3/19/08 (11:17 p.m.) Fayette Senior Services will sponsor
AARP’s 55 Alive Driver Safety Program classes on Tuesday, April 8 and Thursday
April 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at their new life enrichment center located at
4 Center Drive in Fayetteville (across from the Fayette County Justice
Center). The AARP Driver Safety Program is an 8-hour classroom refresher that
can help you learn the effects of aging on driving and how you can adjust your
driving. Classes are taught in two, four-hour sessions spanning the two days.
The cost is $10 and covers the Driver Safety Program Certificate and all class
materials.
“There are five very good reasons for drivers who are age 50 and better to take advantage of the Driver Safety Program” says Fayette Senior Services program manager, Susan Landais. Participants can: 1. Learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws,
rules of the road and much more in this 8-hour course. Course instructor, Col. John A. Milani states “I have driven over three million miles as a commercial driver. Even with that record behind me, I have to keep an open mind and learn new things. The Driver Safety Program taught me a lot about normal age related changes that I didn’t realize.
