Our goal is to provide a nurturing, non-competitive atmosphere where children through seniors can gain the skills necessary to master the medium of their choice, wither it be photography, pottery, sculpture, or painting in oils, acrylics, watercolor or pastels. A very important component of this goal is to replace arts education cuts in the schools. We are committed to helping any child with artistic talent and hope of becoming an art major.

Artists of all genres are encouraged to congregate and learn from one another as well as teach others. We are always seeking talented artists to teach.

History : The Fayette Art Center was founded by Kathaleen Brewer in September of 2005. The Art Center first started in a 1940 bunglaow in dowtown Fayetteville, then moved a year later to 2011 West Hwy. 54 in order to be more centrally located and have easier acccess. Within the first two years student enrollment doubled and additional teachers were added along with a complete pottery studio.  The curriculumn is unique in that it is taught by artists for artists. Individuality is of utmost importance.

One day / night would be intro. to photography, while the next would be intro. to painting landscape/still life, and then intro. to wheel throwing and finally intro. to watercolor & drawing. Group discounts. Minimum of 4, max. of 8 people.

Asian Art Show Jan. 7th thru Feb. 29th, 10:00-5:00 Mon-Saturday and Tues. & Thursday evenings 6:30-8:00 PM. FREE.  Featured artists include Yun Lui (Chinese) - oil abstracts  (Master's Degree); Terumi Todd (Japanese) quilts, watercolor, acrylics; Judy Huang (Taiwanese) Watercolor; Suzie Maier (Malaysian) pastel, watercolor, fiber art; Ekarat Beyer (Thailand) Polymer Clay flower arrangements; Julie Li (Chinese) Ikebana Flower arrangements; Maryyann Landlord, featured award winning 10 year old artist with her series of illustrative papercuts of the children's folk tale "Journey to the West."
