We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand
fibers connect us with our fellow-men; and along those fibers, as
sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as
effects.

President.
7/31/07 Our generation must stand up for America and support
her troops. So states Lieutenant General Russel L. Honore, guest speaker at
a recent meeting with the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City.
General Honore is the Commanding General, First United
States Army, at Fort Gillem, Georgia. Recipient of numerous awards and
decorations and serving in a variety of command and staff positions, he
commanded Joint Task Force Katrina, leading the Department of Defense
response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita on the Gulf Coast in 2005.
He
emphasized that homeland security really begins in the home. Each citizen
must be personally prepared and plan accordingly to survive any potential
natural disaster or terrorist event.
General Honore said that todays
voluntary soldiers are doing a tremendous job both here and on foreign lands.
He sees positive actions taking place in both Iraq and Afghanistan. We are
fighting an ideology that is hard for the average American to comprehend.
General Honore stated that each citizen should enthusiastically support
members of the military and their families while our soldiers are in harms
way defending freedom.
