Sara Harp Minter Elementary
School hosted a 5K and 1 mile Fun Run on Saturday, October 6. The race,
sponsored by the Peachtree City Rotary Club and the Peachtree City Running
Club, is a part of the Elementary Grand Prix Series.
It was hot, humid and a light
mist fell as runners and walkers gathered. Despite a large number of events
occurring at the same time, the Run drew a respectable crowd of
participants.
The 5K Run/Walk began at 8:00 am
and the 1 mile run/walk began at 8:10 am.
Pre-registered runners received a
t-shirt designed by two Minter students. All of the runners went home with a
smile and a great goody-bag.
All of the money raised from the
run will be used for the construction of a school track. |
