Artist Brian Olsen entertained the crowd by painting huge portraits of famous icons Marilyn Monroe, Martin Luther King, Jr., Ray Charles and Albert Einstein within minutes while guests watch in amazement.
The portraits were later part of a live auction which also included a week long trip to a private island off the coast of Belize. Proceeds raised at the event will go toward the new Children's Village project under construction on Christian City's campus.
The Children's Village will be a new state-of-the-art Home for Children with administrative offices, offices for intake assessment and training of foster parents, and recreational facilities for the children. Located in Union City, Christian City is a nonprofit organization that has been serving abandoned/abused or neglected children in a family centered, residential setting since opening the first cottage in 1965.
