We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand
fibers connect us with our fellow-men; and along those fibers, as
sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as
effects.

Wells Qualifies to Run for Fayette County Tax
Commissioner
5/5/08 (9:19 a.m.) On May 2, 2008
former Republican Commissioner, Linda Wells qualified to run for the
position of Tax Commissioner. Asked about her reasons for running,
Ms. Wells said there are several reasons for returning to public
service. “Initially” she said, “I had no intention of seeking public
office again. However, during the last several weeks so many people
called and asked me to reconsider, and to specifically consider the
position of tax commissioner, that I had to give it serious
consideration. After much prayer, I decided that the concerns were
genuine, and I had the experience, education, and expertise to address
the issues at hand.”
Ms. Wells holds an undergraduate
degree in Behavioral Psychology from Chaminade University and a MEd in
Adult Education/Human Services from Boston University. She spent 18
years as a CSC certified interpreter for the deaf, 10 years as the
director of the Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence (now known
as Promise Place), 12 years as a County Commissioner and for the last
7 years has owned her own financial services business in
Fayetteville.
Ms. Wells said she looks forward
to a campaign that will benefit every taxpayer in Fayette County.
