We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand
fibers connect us with our fellow-men; and along those fibers, as
sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as
effects.

American Girl Boutique and Bistro Opens in Metro Atlanta
Fayette County young ladies and their American
Girl dolls at the opening of the new concept store, North Point
Mall
8/24/07
On August 18th, American Girl opened their doors at North Point Mall in
Atlanta. The new store is one of only two new "experiential retail concepts"
opening this year. The second location is in Dallas, Texas.
The American Girl Boutique and Bistro will carry a
rotating selection of the company’s popular dolls, outfits, and accessories as
well as a variety of its best-selling American Girl books. In addition, American
Girl fans can treat their dolls to a new ’do in the Doll Hair Salon and enjoy
brunch, lunch, dinner, or an unforgettable dessert in the casual Bistro.
Designed as the ultimate place to celebrate girls’
birthdays and other special occasions, the American Girl Boutique and Bistro
features separate party rooms where girls and their friends can enjoy American
Girl–themed parties, complete with organized games and activities, special food
and cake, and party favors. Various girl-and-mom-friendly programs and classes
are also offered at the store throughout the year.
Girls of all ages stood in line for up to four hours to get a chance to
go in and shop.
Lines outside the store...
The bistro
received high marks from Peachtree City resident Sharon Mitchell. Mitchell
and family bravely withstood the masses of people on opening day so they could
celebrate their daughter's birthday with several of her friends.
"Although extremely crowded, the grand opening of
American Girl Doll Boutique and Bistro was phenomenal. The bistro dining
experience was the highlight of the trip," said Mitchell.
She continued, "It reminded me of the 'ladies who
lunch' restaurants I would go to with my mother on special occasions. The
employees made each girl and her doll feel special. The dolls had special chairs
attached to the table as well as a mini menu of their own."
Mitchell recommends having a reservation before attempting to visit the bistro.
Having the reservation guarantees you don't have to endure the long lines to get
into the store. However, you will still to wait patiently as the busy clerks
ring up the purchases of each star and her new friend. Take your wallet--
you'll need it.
