McIntosh High School
3/10/08 (6:09 p.m.) After finishing first in the Griffin RESA
High School Academic Bowl (varsity division), McIntosh High
repeated its performance at the statewide meet, clinching
the state championship. Other
varsity teams earning placements at the RESA regional
competition were Starr’s Mill High Team B (second) and
Starr’s Mill High Team A (fifth). Both teams from Starr’s
Mill also competed in the state bowl.
In the RESA junior varsity division,
McIntosh High placed first, followed by Whitewater High in
second and Fayette County High finishing fifth.
A total of 29 teams from school systems
representing Butts, Fayette, Henry, Lamar, Newton, Pike,
Spalding and Upson counties participated in the regional
competition
