Hawk's Visit Children's Hospitals

12/16/07 (7:02 p.m.) Continuing with
the organization’s traditional philanthropic endeavors during this season of
giving, the Atlanta Hawks visited patients at two local hospitals on December
12.
Players, coaches, front office staff,
and mascots split into two groups and spread a little holiday cheer at
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite and Children’s Healthcare of
Atlanta at Egleston by visiting with patients and families, distributing gifts,
playing Bingo and signing autographs.

all of the Winter Programs within the Recreation
Department. There are a variety of sports programs
being offered including: Youth & Teen Classes: First
Kicks, Tennis Lessons; Adult Classes: Tennis Lessons,

In less than six months, Scott Rigsby completed 13 triathlons,
five road races, one duathlon and set
two world triathlon records. He was the first double amputee to complete an

Run-Walk will be held Saturday, May 3 at Lester Road Christian Church, 3900
Newton Road, Fairburn. A 100 meter Heroes of Hope race will be held for our

12/1/07 (8:23 p.m.) The Southern Crescent Junior Team
Tennis League's Fall Season is now one for the history books.
Congratulations to two of the Braelinn Golf Club's Junior Tennis Program
teams for having another smashing season! Coached by Randy Rye and Larry
Saheim, the 12U Beginners Team consists of players from age 8-11, while the
14U Intermediate players range from age 11-13. The young players faces
were full of smiles as they received the coveted bag tags have come together
and function well as a team. Team Captains Wendy Farrell and Ann Eldredge
commented that It was definitely a team effort. They noted that every
player's efforts contributed to the overall success of the teams. "Neither
of the teams' fates were decided until the last match. We had some really
great competition this season."

First Place in P.A.C.!
11/17/07 (1:44 p.m.) Our Lady of Victory girl’s volleyball
team took first place in the P.A.C. tournament held at Trinity Christian
school. OLV girls defeated Griffin Christian Academy and Trinity Christian
School before pairing up with St. Paul Lutheran School in the finals. St.
Paul won the first game 25-20, but OLV won the next 25-18, and the tie-
breaker 15-11.

Junior Team Tennis League debuted a new league for junior team tennis in
January 2008. With 147 players and 25 teams throughout Fayette, Coweta and
Spalding Counties, competition heated up the courts. Congratulations to the
winning teams in the following age divisions: 10U Wyndham Kids Davis, 12U
Wyndham McPherson, 14U Woodcreek Traeger, 18U Intermediate Braelinn

4/16/08 (10:29 p.m.) The Kiwanis Club of Peachtree
City proudly announces its annual Pat Patterson Classic Spring Golf Tournament.
The 4-person Fort Lauderdale format tournament will be held at the Flat Creek
Golf Club on Wednesday, April 23. Registration begins at 10:30 AM with a
shotgun start at 1:00 PM. Entrance fee is $75 per person which includes greens

City Parks and Recreation, The Youth Council serving Fayette County, and
Mayor Logsdon present: Peachtree City Mayor's High School Basketball
League. The league is open to High School students who reside in
Fayette County. The games will be on Fridays at the Kedron Fieldhouse at 202
Kedron Drive.
The cost is only $10 per person. All

Fame is scheduled for March 8th. 6:45PM Dinner and Induction Ceremony at
8:00PM in the FCHS Commons Area. Inductees for 2008 include three former
student athletes who excelled at the sport in both high school and at
the next level, College or Pro., Chris McKnight -Baseball, Becky
Robertson Kouns -Soccer and Dennis Broderick- Baseball. They will also
honor two former coaches and administrators - Gary Phillips former coach
and long time principal at FCHS and Trigg Dalrymple -former coach and
Superintendent of Fayette County Schools. The Distinguished Alumni
Recognition will be a special tribute of the former students who made
the ultimate sacrifice in the service to our country in World War II,
the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam War, with a tribute to the "Fallen
Heroes" Tickets are available at FCHS front office and Fayette Sports
for $20.00 each.
Strength Training at 1st Presbyterian PTC
Friday, March 14th at 7 pm at First Presbyterian Church is the place to be

2/13/08 (10:24 a.m.) For over 30 years, the Knights of Columbus have
sponsored an International Free Throw Championship for youth between the
ages of 10 and 14. This year's local winners met on Sunday, February 10, at
Hood Avenue Elementary School in Fayetteville for the district competition.
Participants came from Peachtree City, Tyrone, Fayetteville, Sharpsburg and
Newnan. School Superintendent Dr. John DeCotis said, "We were very pleased with the turn-out and
the high level of skill displayed by the participants. This was one of the
best in the last several years." Division winners advance to the state
finals which will be held March 22 at Philips Arena in Atlanta.

2/3/08 (11:31 a.m.) The 2008 Fayette County High School Sports Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony will be held on March 8th at FCHS in the Commons Area.
This years inductees include three former student athletes - Becky Robertson Kouns -Soccer,
Dennis Broderick -Baseball and Chris McKnight - Baseball and two former coaches and administrators, Gary Phillips former coach and principal at FCHS and Trigg Dalrymple former coach and Superintendent of Fayette County Schools.
The Back and Gold Committee for Distinguished Alumni, will honor the "Fallen Heroes", students who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam War.
Tickets are available at FCHS front office or at Fayette Sports. The dinner will begin at 6:45PM with the induction ceremony slated to start at 8:00PM. The banquet is a county event and shares the storied history of the oldest high school in the county.
